Fishing / angling at Heiterwanger See in the Zugspitz Arena

Fish trout, char and perch yourself from the lake. The only requirement is obtaining a fishing card: first pay the guest card fee to the Tyrolean Fishing Union, then get your fishing card, for instance from Hotel Fischer. Please always bring along your fishing card, the fishing license and the payment confirmation in case of inspection. Discover lakes and waterfalls: refreshing summer holidays in Tyrol

You have to plan one hike or the other to the countless mountain lakes and waterfalls around Ehrwald! Your hosts have selected two particularly attractive paths for you – a round trip and hike that can be partly done by mountain railway.

  • Waterfall round in Ehrwald
    3 km length, 1-hour walk, easy Start at the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn and hike on a forest to path to the foot of the waterfall. The return path leads past gently sloping meadows back to the valley station. Alternative: start your hike directly in front of Hotel Sonnenspitze and reach the round path via the Altenmühlen-Steig.

  • Lake hike from Ehrwald to the Seebensee across the Ehrwalder Alm
    7,6 km in length, 2.25-hour walk (1.15 hours with cable car ascent); medium The path starts above the mountain station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn. Meadow and forest roads lead uphill to the Ehrwalder Alm. Start at the mountain station of the railway to the stream and then continue towards Seebensee. Reach the gorgeous mountain lake after a brief ascent. Return path same as initial path.
